Dehradun :Sunaina Awasthi’s debut novel “Sanely Insane” was released at a ceremony organised by The Booknerds.
Addresing the audience,Sunaina told that,she wrote this novel after the death of her father in 2016,at the age of 19.
She became mentally depressed and started thinking about suicide.
She wrote this novel in the psychiatry ward of the hospital and has tried to explain that it is possible to cure such mental illnesses.
Dr. Sona Kaushal, a psychiatrist, conducted the function and explained to the attendees about mental diseases.
The two hour ceremony was attended by intellectuals, writers and readers of Dehradun.
Various topics,significance of recognising depression, signs of change in people at the time of tragedy and the adverse effects of teenage lifestyle were discussed.
The Booknerds Society, which was founded in 2015 by Rohan Raj and Neha Raj ,to promote literature, has so far organized more than 130 book club meet-ups in Dehradun, in which more than 60 authors’ books have been launched.
