New Delhi : Wuhan city in China’s Hubei province decided to test all its 11 million residents
due to fresh cluster of community cases as reported by chinese media.
The plan come after Wuhan reported the first cluster of new COVID-19 infections since the city re-opened after a 76-day lockdown on April 8.
Six new cases of the corona virus were detected from a residential compound in Dongxihu District of Wuhan,
after which authorities conducted 5,000 tests within the complex itself.
Before this, the city had not reported a single case since April 3.
Hubei province and its capital Wuhan on April 8 lifted a prolonged lockdown
clamped on January 23 as the disease spread through the region like wildfire.
The headquarters asked the districts to submit the plans by Tuesday itself.
The city has prepared a 10-day plan to test all its residents.
Wuhan has reported 3,869 deaths since the novel coronavirus first emerged there in December, accounting for most fatalities in China.
